CamVietLand – Bangkok

Round two in Bangkok and we had a mission to shop, with an ex resident of bangkok with us we were armed with all kinds of Intel. Lol. Sounds like an operation but if I’m honest that’s kinds how the next couple of days went down.

We had two days and two nights with the last night a right off because of plans to leave for Cambodia on the 6am bus.

So we got to it…we landed 11am and checked in at the air bnb apartment that Tope had found for us and hit the market (chatuchat) and the malls, the one I had spent a fair amount of time in on my first visit. MBK…why? It has everything, and three women with three different shopping agendas need a place like MBK, we split up to keep efficient.

A couple hours later and after a trip to the free ATM we get the best curried crab I have ever tasted in my life; to go back to the apartment. Its late, we were all fed and tired but this is the ONLY night we can hit a club in Bangkok together, all of us most likely hoping someone else will say “I cant do this” lol. We were all hardcore and forced ourselves into our party frocks and into a taxi.

Route 66 a huge club, with outside space where locals and tourists alike party. Hard. We got in had a warm up drink and the rest was one of the most fun nights I have had out with these two ladies, people watching dancing like mad people and meeting new people. One photo of a naughty banana later and it was 3am.

Oops…we had a hard core shopping slash sightseeing day plan which started with chatuchat market at10… We took our hindies home so we were ready.

This Saturday needs a bullet pointed list we covered so much:

Chatuchat
Floating market
China town
Wat pho
A river cruise
MBK
Siam Hotel roof bar
Talad rot if market
Cho San road > just to tick it off, we hated it.

I remember it like two separate days if I’m honest, only good friends can withstand such a strain on everyone’s ability to cope as this day would have…we left at 9.30 am and arrived home at 1.30am. A 4am wake up for the next day was the next travel gift.
I wanted to cry while I was packing my bag. I did not; these two ladies with me were troopers so I cracked on. Love ’em.
