The thing about Singapore…

Is it has efficiency, cleanliness and planning blended to the right proportions to create a functioning city with happy residents and a thriving expat community. You can get anything you need there, you can have the most luxurious experiences and look out one on of the most impressive skylines in the world, taste the cuisine of the Malays, Chinese and Indians because they make up the melting pot of people that are referred to a Singaporeans; to top it off they have a pleasure island for crying out loud. Really.

Sentosa is a collection of bright ideas on one island, all the things some group of people thinks constitutes a good time that will attract locals and foreigners alike put neatly in one place, beach;check, hotel; check, casino; check, bars, clubs amusement park, indoor skydiving, go karts…check, check, check, check and check. Its a little odd at worst, well planned at best. You get a little sky train, like the DLR across to it from Singapore and let the fun begin 😐

Do I like it? Hell yes, its what tidying a city up would look like in my organised head…sorry but its true. I like Singapore because of the insane particular ness and the fact that someone is in the slighted bit bothered enough to make up every one of those very specific rules they have. The weather helps and lends itself to the gorgeously clean back drop of hotels and fabulous malls. Its a hen party city, everything you need to treat yourselves, is here in abundance.

Stevie, aka Lamby also helped with my experience here, he is friend of my sister who went out of his way to make me feel as welcome as he could with the help of his lovely girlfriend. This meant I went with them to Saturday nights out and a lovely dinner on my last night, these guys booked after me.

Lindsey my new friend from THE koh pangan tour was also from Singapore and happened to be there at the same time I was..the luck! She showed me a different side of the city, with a tropical fruit tasting session as one of the highlights…absolutely awesome. We hung out a few times and no doubt my experience of Singapore was enhanced by having these connections here. I think they all know it but when they are coming to London I only hope my hosting skills will be up to scratch!
