So this trip began with all the trials a flight to anywhere could possibly come with. Gulf air flight due to leave LHR at 9.30 am, which is my flight to Cochin, Kerala India with a stop in Bahrain is due to use an aircraft that has technical issues….my plane is broken. Great. I’m just happy they found out before I got on it. it takes until 10.30 for anyone to pipe up and tell us any of this and even then I had to use my general irritation and lack of patience for sitting at the gate with zero information to prise this detail out of the staff. The advice was to wait…hang around check out the board to see when the flight will leave. The dilemma was about repairing it on the spot or get another aircraft.
17.30, a meal voucher later and a LOT of duty free browsing and restraint from me, we finally board a new plane. My connecting flight has been missed which flys once a day, so I had an interesting overnight stay in Bahrain ahead.. To be honest with the number of flights on my itinerary I’m better off getting used to airports and hanging around them at this point.
The wait and Bahrain…the dry heat is something else!
With no clothes as my bag stayed at the airport I mooched around in full England weather gear in what had to be 30 degrees plus heat. Bahrain was cool though.
